Don’t delay because this problem is getting worse. The easiest step is to ask your local Kia Dealer for a solution. We have heard that some dealers are able to add an engine immobilizer on to the car and make these cars more secure.
** Update: we have just received reports of an updated Kia being stolen right from the owner’s driveway.
Also, consider VISIBLE security devices like steering wheel locks, wheel locks, etc. Your car may be less attractive to thieves if it presents some obvious deterrence. And of course, if you have a lockable garage, make sure to put your Kia in it.
It appears that major retailers like AutoZone and Amazon have these devices in stock. Opting for the brightest and most visible color seems like a good strategy.
